Wild Boar

The wild boar (Sus scrofa) is a highly adaptable and resilient mammal found across forests, grasslands, and wetlands worldwide. Recognized by its sturdy build, tusks, and bristly coat, the wild boar is an omnivorous forager, feeding on roots, fruits, small animals, and carrion.

Wild boars are social animals, living in groups called sounders. They play an essential ecological role by aerating soil while foraging, which promotes plant growth. However, in areas where they lack predators, wild boar populations can grow rapidly, leading to conflicts with humans and damage to crops.
